AVOID DROWSY DRIVING

U. S. traffic experts say that one out of five fatal traffic accidents involves drowsy driving. Drivers who get only 4 to 5 hours of sleep per night are almost 5 1/2 times more likely to have an accident. Drowsy driving is distracted driving. Be aware and recognize the signs of sleepiness behind the wheel. Increased blinking, frequent yawning, longer blink duration, slower eye movements, poor decision-making, slowed reaction time, and nodding off at a stoplight are all warning signs of sleepiness.To avoid drowsy driving, open a window, talk with passengers, drink a caffeinated beverage, or pull over in a safe spot and take a nap.
