Boost Your Memory

Posted: 06.3.2015

A new study suggests that a single session of strength training may give your memory a boost.  Researchers separated participants into two groups -- one active, one passive.  Each group was shown 90 pictures.  After this, the active group did leg exercises against heavy resistance.  The passive group relaxed while an exercise machine, with no resistance, moves their legs.  Two days later, they all were shown the same 90 pictures plus 90 more and were asked which they had seen before.  The resistance group recalled the pictures with more accuracy.  Experts say the stress of strenuous exercise may consolidate memories.
