CYCLING LOWERS HEALTH RISKS

Cycling is a good form of exercise and appears to reduce the risk of certain health issues. In a recent study, adults ages 50 to 65 who cycled 30 to 60 minutes a week had fewer heart attacks than non-cyclists during the 20-year study period. In other research on 24,000 people, average age 43, those who cycled to work had a lower risk of obesity, hypertension, prediabetes and high triglycerides than non-cyclists. Another study of those who cycled 20 minutes a day showed that cycling lowered their risk of heart disease by 50%. Cycling also improves balance, builds muscle and is easy on the joints.
