Fruit May Cut Diabetes Risk

Eating whole fruit, especially blueberries, apples and grapes, may lower the risk of developing type-2 diabetes, according to a recent study.  All fruit showed some benefit, but these were especially effective.  Consuming three servings a week significantly reduced risk, particularly blueberries, which cut risk by 26%.  Experts suggest that the best way to minimize the risk of type-2 diabetes is to eat a balanced, healthy diet that includes plenty of fruits and vegetables and to be as physically active as possible.
