TODAY'S HEALTH TIP -- GOOD NEWS FOR NUT LOVERS! Eating nuts may help reduce your risk of certain cancers, according to a recent study. Researchers examined data from multiple studies involving more than 30,000 people and found that nut consumption appeared to lower the risk of some cancers, especially colorectal, endometrial and pancreatic. Walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, almonds, pine nuts and pistachios are good choices because they are lower in saturated fat than other kinds of nuts. Experts say to aim for a handful of unsalted nuts (about 1 oz.) four to five times a week. Eat them in place of, and not in addition to, other less healthy foods so as not to increase your total calorie intake.
