Make Time for Yourself
Caregivers, especially the moms of young children, need to take time for themselves. The American Council on Exercise recommends the following: try to spend time each day doing something you enjoy. Eat a healthy, balanced diet, drink plenty of water and get regular exercise. Schedule regular date nights or outings with friends. Be sure to laugh every day. Get outdoors and enjoy nature. Treat yourself to a massage, which can release hormones that improve mood. Keep a gratitude journal; write down a few things each day for which you are thankful.
