PROSTATE CANCER RISK & LIFESTYLE

Posted: 05.11.2016

A healthy lifestyle may significantly reduce the risk of prostate cancer death, according to new research. The ten-year study followed 63,000 men and their adherence to six different lifestyle habits that reduce risk of advanced prostate cancer. The six habits were: maintaining a healthy weight, exercising vigorously, not smoking (for at least 10 years), eating fatty fish at least once a week, eating tomato products (rich in lycopene) most days, and having no more than three servings a week of red or processed meat. Men who followed at least 5 of the 6 habits had a 50% reduced risk of dying from advanced prostate cancer.
