Protect Your Eyes in the Sun
Long-term exposure to the harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun is associated with certain eye conditions such as cataracts and macular degeneration. You can help protect your eyes from sun-related damage with a pair of good sunglasses. Look for sunglasses that filter out 99 - 100% of UVA and UVB rays. Everyone should wear sunglasses, including children, whose eyes are very vulnerable to UV rays. Light sensitivity can be a side effect of some medications, so sunglasses are especially important in those cases.
