Walking Lowers Breast Cancer Risk
Something as simple as a daily walk can help reduce the risk of breast cancer, according to a new study. Researchers followed 73,000 post-menopausal women and discovered that those who walked at a moderate pace (about 3 miles per hour) for an hour a day lowered their risk of developing breast cancer by 14% compared to women who were sedentary. Those women who engaged in an hour a day of more vigorous exercise (a light jog, moderate cycling or lap swimming) reduced their risk by 25%.
